Compliance

The gold standard in legal compliance and international best practice

Cleardata is a member of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), the trade association for the international document and information destruction sector.

The association's gold benchmark for quality and professionalism is its AAA Certification.

Organisations are assessed annually to ensure they continually meet the association's strict standards of service excellence, staff appointment and screening, insurance and various security requirements. The association also assesses whether a member's operations meet the requirements of its home country's privacy protection legislation.

We are proud to be the first African NAID member, and the first to be awarded AAA Certification.

Such certifications ensure compliance with US and European privacy protection provisions around document disposal.

ISO 9001 is by far the world's most established quality framework, currently being used by more than a million organisations in 170+ countries.

It sets the standard for both quality management systems and management systems in general, helping accredited organisations succeed through improved customer satisfaction, staff motivation and continual improvement.

We received our ISO 9001 certification from the South African Bureau of Standards in May 2009.

Leading the way in environmental responsibility

We take our commitment to the environment seriously, and in 2008 Cleardata was certified as the world's first carbon neutral provider of secure document destruction services.

This was a significant development in our history, and evidenced our ongoing efforts to undertake and promote sustainable business practices.

This status was achieved through a dedicated reduction strategy that included the use of bio-fuel for our vehicle fleet, and the planting of hundreds of trees at several disadvantaged schools across South Africa.
